Did Prabowo Watch Football While Indonesians Suffered? Claim Examined
VERDICT
CONFIDENCE
35%
Direct Answer
No verified evidence shows Prabowo watched football while Indonesians were suffering. The viral claim originated from a TikTok post tagged as satire, parody, and a joke, making it unverified rather than factually established.
What the Evidence Shows
The claim traces back to a TikTok post that carries hashtags including 'satire,' 'joke,' 'meme,' and 'boong.' That alone doesn't kill the story, but it does mean we can't treat it as a straight news report. No reliable evidence places Prabowo Subianto or Mayor Teddy at a football match in the context described. AFP Fact Check has documented multiple manipulated or misleading videos involving Prabowo, which shows that viral political clips about him regularly require independent verification before any conclusion is drawn. The Pancasila angle adds moral weight, but calling any individual action 'not Pancasila' is a political judgment, not a checkable fact. Confidence sits at just 35% here because the original footage could not be independently located, no corroborating reporting was found, and the post itself signals parody rather than documentation. We can't call this true, and we can't call it false either.
